The Little Red Owl

DIY ideas for home, health, & life

I thought today I would share with you some fun photos of and quick lines on my favorite kitchen items.

fav kitchen items, thelittleredowl.com

Now one by one:

white collander, thelittleredowl.com

My white colander from Ikea, so simple and so pretty AND so inexpensive!

red chantal dishware

My two red Chantal bake ware dishes that are oven, microwave, and freezer safe. My mom turned me onto this stuff and I love it-it cooks great AND looks great!

waffle maker

open waffle maker

My wonderful vintage waffle maker. My mom has this same exact one and I LOVE the waffles it makes. I had to have one for myself. Luckily I found someone selling this one on Etsy and I LOVE it.

GE mixer

Lastly, my wonderful vintage GE mixer. Again, this is something I learned from my mother. I grew up using my mother’s GE mixer and I HAD to have my very own. I looked online but I couldn’t find the exact one I was looking for-enter my Grandma. She had her GE mixer in the basement and graciously let me have it! My mom came through with the matching beaters. I LOVE this mixer. It stands the test of time and isn’t too large-a great thing when you have limited space.

What are your favorite kitchen items from your own homes?

It’s hard for me to have favorites in my kitchen. I use my Corning Ware dishes all the time as well as my Tupperware microwave 2 Qt bowl. I love plastic scrapers that get even the last drop out of bowls. I think I could go and on about the things we use constantly, like almost everyday. If I concentrate real good, I might be able to think of one or two things I really love? My food processor is so handy and does the job in a matter of seconds. Also Grandpa loves the waffle iron, he makes double batches of waffles in it and freezes them, We eat them every Fri. morning. We have favorite knives too. And the milk pitchers we have, one for him and one for me. My coffee cups are favorites and I bought them for hardly anything at Big Lots. We have a lovely but small kitchen, that’s all I can say.

I believe your grandmother gave you the mixer and I gave you the beaters.
